“Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.” Psalms 82:4
Every day women and children are suffering silently in our own neighborhoods, and we at CWA of Georgia are on the front lines in order to assist in the rescue and restoration of these victims.
Human Trafficking Defined
Human trafficking is modern-day exploitation and enslavement of human beings that involves obtaining or maintaining the labor or service of another through force, fraud or coercion in violation of another's human rights.
Human trafficking affects an estimated 20,000 people a year in the United States alone, including women and children who are unlawfully brought to our shores as sex and labor slaves. Subjected to the worst possible treatment, living in horrid conditions, forced into servitude by physical and emotional violence, debt or coercion, these people desperately need our help. We know that the global scale of this problem may affect as many as 900,000 people every year.
A Call for Modern Day Abolitionists
Anti-slavery pioneer William Wilberforce, as personified in the film Amazing Grace, took on the English establishment and persuaded those in power to end the inhumane trade of slavery in the British Empire. You too can be an abolitionist and help extinguish this evil of our times.
